Up for your consideration is this vintage pawn Native American ~ Navajo ~ handcrafted silver and turquoise squash blossom necklace that we picked up from one of our Gallup New mexico pawn shop dealers. We have been dealing with this pawn shop for many years now and it is a true pawn shop that has been serving the needs of its Native American clients for many generations.
This squash blossom necklace is very long, so it was probably originally made for a man. The necklace is double stranded with handmade silver beads, 16 fancy hand made 3-petal squash blossoms, and a 11-turquoise stone naja. The turquoise stones are a deep turquoise color with some (but not alot of) black matrix and are well-matched in color. The stones measure about 1/2 long.
* 35 long from hook-end to eye-end
* 20 hang from the neck to bottom of naja
* Naja: 3 x 2-1/4 in size
* Hallmarked FA and sterling
This is a authentic Indian made squash blossom necklace. It is larger and heavier that your average squash blossom necklace and was probably made for a man.
Excellent condition. Nice vintage patina. These older necklaces were also strung a little looser than the necklaces of today, which allows the necklaces to hang better, in most people's opinion.
